Pack 407 is excited for the 2025-26 scouting year!

In the fall of 2018 Pack 407 began accepting girls into our scouting program, in 2019 we graduated our first girl to a Scouts BSA troop. This link has information on the family scouting program.

Pack 407 is sponsored by St. Paul's Episcopal Church located at 25 Church St in Prince Frederick. We have scouts from Elementary Schools in Central and Southern Calvert County. Cub Scouts is for youth in kindergarten through the fifth grade. We have many group activities each year including multiple camping trips, fishing tournament, Pine Wood Derby, Christmas parade, snow tubing, and annual "Blue and Gold" Awards Banquet.

The Pack is broken down into Dens within the Pack. The Dens are arranged by elementary school grade. Dens meet 2 to 3 times per month (Thursdays @ 7pm) and the Pack meets as a whole once a month for our Pack Meetings (1st Thursday @ 7:00pm).

Scouting is a fun, exciting, and challenging way to engage today's youth in constructive activities outside of school.

Why Scouting?
The aims of Scouting are character development, citizenship in the community, personal fitness, and developing leadership.

Start of the 2021-2022 Scouting year

Posted on Sep 16 2021 - 11:21am

Welcome back to Pack 407 for the 2021-2022 Scouting Year!  This year we will be working to get back to normal, meeting at the Church regularly and having monthly pack events on the weekends.  We will have a Pack meeting on the first Thursday of the month and Den meetings on the second and third Thursdays.  The other Thursdays may be utilized for Den meetings at the discretion of the Den leader.  Meetings will be at the church (25 Church Street Prince Frederick, MD 20685).  As of now, per the Episcopal Diocese masks are required any time we are inside the church hall.  We will try to do as much outdoor as we can while the weather is nice.

Pack Update

Posted on Sep 27 2020 - 9:16pm

Hello Pack 407 Families,

Thank you to those of you that took time to dial into our committee meeting last week to discuss upcoming events.  I think it was very productive and am excited to begin our year of scouting adventures.

Parent/Committee Meeting

Posted on Sep 14 2020 - 6:46pm

Pack 407 Families,

Hope the new school year and fall season finds you well.  I’m setting up a parent and committee member zoom meeting on Thursday September 24th at 7pm (see below for the link) to discuss the new year of scouting adventures.  I included all families from last year in this email because we need the participation from each family in the meeting to ensure the packs future.  Please join us in the meeting so we can make plans for the coming year and establish new adult leadership in the pack. There are many essential positions available for adult leadership that require small amounts of time out of your already busy schedules.  Again, without adult participation this program can’t exist and the pack will close.  Additionally, I have obtained all awards for the boys that completed their ranks and achievements this summer.  Below is a list of agenda items and positions available.

Pack update.

Pack 407 Families.

I hope you’re all staying safe and continuing your scouting journeys while we all navigate through this pandemic day by day.  Some information to pass on:

*First all rank requirements are required to be completed by 31 July.   I’ll order all scout awards in August and we will begin planning a pack show to allow for everyone to crossover to the next rank while keeping in guidelines with Covid restrictions.  I’m communicating with Matt Humm to work out an event at the church.

*Second, Webelos Weekend is August 21-23 and is open for first and second year Webelos and families.  It should be on the website soon to sign up and get more information.

*Lastly, as we get closer to getting back to whatever the new normal is going to be we need to think about and begin to turnover adult leadership positions in the Pack.  We have been looking for a Cub Master for a year and it is still very important that we fill this role. The Cub Master helps organize and carry out the monthly Pack Shows and if needed assists Den Leaders.

I am not able to take on the Cub Master role as I will be transferring to Texas in November.  David and the family will be staying with Pack 407 and crossing over to Troop 347 in December.

Coronavirus Update

Posted on Mar 16 2020 - 10:24am

Attention Parents/Guardians:

Due to the situation with the Coronavirus and the guidance from the National Capitol Area Council, CCPS school closure, and the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, Pack 407 has decided to cancel all activities until further notice.  We feel that this will be in the best interest of our scouts and parents.
